K6JSS/7 will be on the air from Oregon within the next ten minutes. I'll
be running on 20 meters at or near 14060 kHz. I plan to run for an hour while I read and work contacts. I will try to be on each morning near 1500z for the alloted time period. 73, Kevin. My first run as K6JSS went OK. I ran for a little under an hour and got a
couple. I will try again tomorrow at 1500z. 73, Kevin. Starting at 1500z.
I will try these bands in this order: 40, 30, and then 20 meters. So, 7060, 10116, and 14060 kHz. That way I can cover more ground in my one hour of operation. KD5ONS If anyone wants to spot me however you do that feel free. By the time I walk from my rig to my computer and back again I never know if the frequency will still be free. But since spotting is against the rules 99% of the time this is not a problem. My one hour stint at the rig gathered 12 contacts today. At one point
there was a pile up. I had not heard a pile up in so long it took me aback :) But I got the first part of the first call and last part of the last call and worked from there until I thinned the herd. See you again tomorrow, Kevin. I will be on the air again starting at 1500z
I will alternate between 7060 and 14060 khz. I will try 21060 kHz a couple times too just to see if the sun has opened it again. See you in a few minutes if you want Oregon. Kevin. Bands were not as good today. Weaker signals, lots of QSB, and QRN was high. The sun acted up and now things are noisy. But I worked four bands: forty, thirty, twenty, and fifteen meters alternating through them for an hour. Got six stations all on twenty meters. I will try again tomorrow and see what happens after the CMEs strike the ionosphere. 73, Kevin. One more try at K6JSS/7 this morning. Starting at 1500z I will skip across a few bands and see who I can find. I will try 7030 or 7040 today to see if that area elicits more contacts than does 7060 kHz. 14060 kHz seems to provide 90% or more of my contacts so I will spend more time there. I am not sure if I will be able to get on tomorrow so this is most likely my last day. 73, Kevin. Eleven more contacts in my hour of effort this morning. 40, 20, and 15 meters each gave me contacts. 15 was noisy but I got one Ohio station through just fine. Forty meters was the workhorse band though. It was fun to put in an hour a day this week. Now I have to wait for another 25 or 50 years to do it again :( 73, Kevin.
