I have my kit built but it does not seem to see the KAT3. I have tried the
byp and auto setting in config. When I push the ATU button is says not installed. I can hear relays switch in and out when I cycle through the test settings in config. I rechecked and the board appears to be plugged into the connector properly. I am not sure how one could remove it easily without taking the back cover off. I have not updated the firmware and was about to install the 100w KPA unit. Any suggestions? _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Subscriber Info (Addr. Possibly a stupid question, but have you enabled the KAT3 by turning power off and back on after setting ATU to byp in config mode ?.

I installed the KPA unit and now it seems to be working......... Maybe it
was a power up issue. Thanks for all the suggestions. Mike,
If you can select Bypass or Auto in the configuration menu, then the presence of the KAT3 is known to the K3 firmware. What level of firmware are you using? Perhaps you should upgrade it if it is backlevel. Holding ATU should change between Bypass and Auto (just like the configuration menu). Tapping ANT should change between ANT1 and ANT2. Tapping ATU TUNE should begin tuning. Which of these button functions are working and which are not. If you can be more specific, then perhaps someone with a KAT3 can respond and you can compare notes. I do not have the KAT3 installed here. 73, Don W3FPR Mike Fatchett W0MU wrote: > I have my kit built but it does not seem to see the KAT3. I have tried the > byp and auto setting in config.
