KAT500 utility software request

KD8NNU

Dear Elecraft,

I would like to request a simple software enchancement to the KAT500
utility software.

Is it possible to allow in the future releases the ability to to size
the window by dragging the window to a larger or smaller footprint on
the screen.

I like to use the utility for changing antennas but it wants to cover
the programs I am using.  If I could shrink it more it would be more
screen friendly.

Thank you for considering my request.

Cheers
Don

I'll do what I can to make the pages resizable. The minimum size is constrained by the operate pages controls, so smaller than the current minimum may not be feasible. It also has to be reasonable at several settings of display expansion preferences.

Hi,

Not sure what your problem is. The utility behaves just like any other Windows program. It can be moved around and resized as you wish. There is a minimum size for its window but unless your screen is really tiny that should not be a problem. I don't think there is anything the program developer can do to help you.

Dick,
Maybe a second (or third) monitor might be in order with  the desktop across
the multiple monitors.
At work,  I ran email & IM on a second monitor to keep in touch with
clients; while still having a large monitor for work (mostly spreadsheets &
drawings).
Worked well for me.
BTW - the 2nd  monitor was much smaller than the main monitor.

Re: KAT500 utility software request

I do run two monitors already I guess maybe I need to get bigger ones.   :-)

I am not a programmer so I do not know what the limitations are for
shrinking the windows to smaller sizes.  So if it can not be done based on
how the software is written then it is what it is.
