KIO2

Gilbert J Cross
Wanting to try out the new KIO2 I found that my computer has only
USB ports. Is it possible to cobble up an adaptor to get from the DB9 to
the USB port?

                Thanks much    Gil   K8EAG

                Happy holidays to all

Re: KIO2

Robert-223
The DB9 to serial port is not as simple as wiring it together.  It
requires a dedicated USB chip and converter for use with DB9.
You can buy a ready made USB to DB9 but it still may not work with the
KIO2 since the USB to DB9 is a virtual port and not a true serial DB9
port.
You may want to ask if anyone has been successful using the serial DB9
to USB converter with the KIO2.

I have been successful with the edgeport series... both 4 serial & 8 serial...

not cheap but does provide 8 configurable serial ports   .... * !!!!!!!
great for the ICOMs & the rotor & the Uniden 780, several programmers  and
of course the K2 on com7..
