I have a dummy load on Ant 2 on my KPA-1500. When I have Ant 2
selected, on any bandI cannot select just "In." When I hold the button to change ATU Mode, my only choices are BYP or BYP and IN both showing simultaneously. BYP + IN means you have selected to have the ATU in-line but the antenna's
SWR was so low that the ATU algorithm decided just to bypass the L and C components. Functionally, it's the same as BYP, but you know that the ATU is enabled. This is exactly what you should expect with a dummy load. 73, /Rick N6XI On Sun, Oct 25, 2020 at 2:47 PM N4ZR <[hidden email]> wrote: > I have a dummy load on Ant 2 on my KPA-1500. P 24 of the owner's manual near the bottom:
The ATU IN and the ATU BYP LEDs both illuminate to show the tuner is bypassed for this frequency. When returning to the selected frequency, the internal ATU will recall the bypass mode, and both ATU IN and the ATU BYP LEDs will be illuminated. 73 de Dick, K6KR -----Original Message----- From: [hidden email] <[hidden email]> On Behalf Of N4ZR Sent: Sunday, October 25, 2020 14:47 To: Elecraft List <[hidden email]> Subject: [Elecraft] KPA-1500: What is it telling me? This seemed odd to me at first, also, but it really made sense as I was
hopping all over the place during cqww this weekend, and could tell at a glance at kpa1500 remote or front panel what it was up to. Also, that I had missed training a few bins...yikes. Once you get used to it, it's the perfect solution. 73 Eric WD6DBM On Sun, Oct 25, 2020, 2:52 PM Rick Tavan <[hidden email]> wrote: > BYP + IN means you have selected to have the ATU in-line but the antenna's > SWR was so low that the ATU algorithm decided just to bypass the L and C > components.
