I looked for the mod that eliminates RFC10, but can't find it. I can see the absence of the choke in the latest manual, but can't see what else changed. Can anyone tell me the source for the mod. I am at that point in a KPA100 build and it would be good to know what changed and what the ramifications are of not doing the mod.
Thanks. Jim, K4ZMV _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Subscriber Info (Addr. Hi Jim,
I ran accross it the other day as follows: Click "Order" on the left side of the Elecraft home page; Scroll down to "Miscellaneous Parts and Upgrades" or something like that (I'm going by memory here) and click it; Scroll down to the KPA100 section. If I remember rightly, the first item is a kit of parts for doing the revision D mod. There is also a link there for the "instruction sheet" in PDF format. If you print that out, you will have what you are looking for. 73, John, W2GW ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jim Brassell" <[hidden email]> To: <[hidden email]> Sent: Sunday, November 12, 2006 3:38 PM Subject: [Elecraft] KPA100 Mod for RFC10 >I looked for the mod that eliminates RFC10, but can't find it. Jim, that's part of the KPA100 Upgrade Kit (Order KPA100UPKT). Do NOT simply
remove RFC10. It comes out as part of a comprehensive group of upgrades to the KPA100 that largely interact, so you want to avoid doing only part of the change. The documentation is available under "Manuals and Downloads" on at www.elecraft.com. The kit with parts and documentation is available by going to the clicking on "Order" on the main web site page, then scrolling down to SPARE PARTS, FIRMWARE AND MOD KITS just above ADD TO CART. That will take you to the SPARE PARTS AND MOD KITS page where you'll find a link to KPA100 Parts and Mod Kits that will take you to the page with the KPA100UPKT. If you've accomplished finding the kit on the web site, actually installing it will be "child's play" <G>. Oh, by the way, if you haven't already done so, you need to install the KPA100SHLDKT as well. Don't give up - it's only five items below the KPA100UPKT on the same page, Hi! Thanks, Ken and others who responded. I started the KPA100 about two weeks
ago and I was researching the RFC10 issue when I discovered that there was a mod put out the 26th of September. My KPA100 was shipped the second week of September. Just hadn't dawned on me the that there would be a major revision so close to the order/ship date. Thanks, again. I found the info. 73, Jim, K4ZMV ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ken K3IU" <[hidden email]> To: "'Jim Brassell'" <[hidden email]> Sent: Sunday, November 12, 2006 3:48 PM Subject: RE: [Elecraft] KPA100 Mod for RFC10 > Hi Jim: > > Go to the Elecraft website.
