Hi all,
I am thinking seriously about putting my KPA100 and KAT100 in an external EC2. I checked the original link and I don't seem to be able to get to it. Can anyone let me have any info please? I did this setup and it works without any flaw. Give us an advantage....
Easy QRP and QRO setup at the same time in second !!! I have a few photos on my website on this setup: http://homepage.mac.com/jfmenard/PhotoAlbum29.html And there... http://homepage.mac.com/jfmenard/PhotoAlbum47.html The first time connection is very easy to accomplish... Let us know if you need help. 73 J-F / VA2VYZ -----Message d'origine----- De : [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]] De la part de Ian J Maude Envoyé : 16 juin 2005 06:22 À : elecraft Objet : [Elecraft] KPA100 and EC2 Hi all, I am thinking seriously about putting my KPA100 and KAT100 in an external EC2. The LDG Z-100 is really not as good as the KAT100. I experiment many RF
problems using this tuner at high power with my FT-817 with a 100W HF AMP. Don't recommended for K2... It works, but KAT100 is greatly better IMHO. 73 -----Message d'origine----- De : Paul Heller [mailto:[hidden email]] Envoyé : 16 juin 2005 08:44 À : Jean-François Ménard Objet : Re: RE : [Elecraft] KPA100 and EC2 Jean-François Ménard wrote: >I did this setup and it works without any flaw. I'm trying to decide whether to build a KAT-100 but if it's about the same as the Z-100 I'll just keep using that. I have been noticing that on my KX1, it does not
"remember" the last used frequency when changing between 20, 30 and 40 meters. The only time that it seems to "remember" is when I tune the radio with the ATU. Once the antenna has been tuned, the frequency that the KX1 was on when the tune function was performed seems to be the one that is locked into memory and will be the one the KX1 returns to each time I switch bands. Is this normal behaviour for the KX1? Thank you. The issue only seems to present itself when I power off
the KX1 then later power it on. It also seems to only happen when I am running on external power, but leave the power plug plugged in with both the KX1 and the power supply off. If I turn off the KX1 but leave the power supply on, it seems to retain the last VFO position on each band. This really isn't much of a problem, but it just seems kind of strange. Maybe the EEROM is being drained somehow when the external power plug is in place but without power on it. Who knows. Matt - K7OE (#1125) On Thu, 16 Jun 2005 22:47:03 -0700 "Leigh L. Ha! Matt, now that you've added the statement about turning power off, I
think I know what you are experiencing. See http://qrp.kd4ab.org/2004/040101/0036.html . If you tap the BAND switch once before powering off, I expect your KX1 _will_ remember the frequency. Ah ha! That sounds like exactly what is happening. Good
sluthing! I will check it out more fully in a bit, but I believe that you have pointed me to the solution. Thanks a million. Matt - K7OE On Fri, 17 Jun 2005 17:00:35 +0200 "Frank R.
