KPA500 / KAT 500

M0AFJ
Is there any reasons why I shouldn't sit the KPA500 on top of the KAT 500 ATU?

No. That's exactly what I do. Looks good, works great. The KAT was
designed intentionally with heavier sheet metal than necessary for its own
structural integrity in order to support the weight of a KPA500. Go for it.

Hi Tim,

That's what I do too.  Keeps the heavy cables from pulling the KAT500 off
the table.

It has been stated that KAT500 on top is OK too, but it still doesn't
"feel right" to me - I'm more comfortable with the vent on the KPA500
completely unobstructed, so I have KPA500 on top.....

Is there any reasons why I shouldn't sit the KPA500 on top of the KAT 500
ATU?

NEW MESSAGE

Sir,

I¹ve always preferred the KAT underneath, but in my old age I don¹t mind the
KAT on top these days!

Anthony Sir!
It would be a good idea to try and keep the KAT on the bottom.
These new KATs of today,  "Whirls"  much faster than those of old!    :-D     < big grin >

I have the tuner under the amp, figuring the tuner would be "light", and pushing buttons would move it around. However, all three antenna ports are now under the fan of the KPA500, and right next to the top of the desk. Mr Fumblefingers has a hard time screwing on the PL259's. I'm going to cut a piece of 1 and 1/4 in. plywood as a base for the tuner.
