While building the KPA500 I found that the ten mounting holes on the PA/LPF
module heatsink were not tapped deeply enough to accommodate the five 4-40 1/4" screws specified on page 22 of the assembly manual, nor the five 4-40 5/16" screws on page 24 of the manual. I had to use the 4-40 3/16" screws in both cases. If I had used the screw lengths as the manual specified, the module would be loose and insecurely fastened to both the Z-bracket and the right side panel. ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [hidden email]

So, did you contact Elecraft support to discuss the issue?

Yes, I found this to be the case in one built a few months ago Reported
to ELECRAFT. This has been a problem in the past too. Used shorter screws. Never got a response. 73 de Brian/K3KO On 10/30/2017 20:37 PM, Carol F.
