KPA500 Utility Ver 1.13.7.16

I got the KPA500 RS-232 hooked up to the radio laptop finally and loaded
FW 1.38 -- all seems to have gone well.  This is the first time I have
ever run the utility, I've been running with FW 1.11 that came with the
KPA500 all this time.

I went to the Configuration tab to save the configuration, and it starts
the save and then hangs.  Nothing works in the utility, I can't close it
with CANCEL or just closing the window.  I ended it with Task Mangler.
Restarted KPA500 utility and tried to look at the fault table with same
results ... it starts, the window comes up and then everything is dead.
  TM says the utility is running.

The KPA500 comes up on COM7 and the firmware load seems to have gone
just fine.  I must be doing something wrong, no one else has reported
problems.

I'm running the same util version.  I'd reload the firmware, or even go back a
version, and see if it still fails.  It works fine here.

By the way, mine wants com5 on the USB to RS232 cable.

What version of the utility do you have?  You need the latest which is 1.14.2.20.

I think there might be a little bit on not reading well on my part here.  1.13.7.16 sounds KATish to me too and the KPA utility is 1.4.5.4.

That sounds like the KAT500 util version.

Please let me take this apparent self-inflicted QLF off line.  I
executed them from desktop shortcuts that all have the right names.  I
have no clue if they have the right targets. :-((  It's a fairly new
computer.

According to the Elecraft website KPA500 Utility Ver 1.13.7.17 is the correct (and current ) version. I just downloaded MCU 1.38 and installed in on my KPA500 using the KPA utility and then saved the configuration with no problem.
