KPA500 not working

VE3NFK
My KPA500 has been working - but had the intermittent hum issue;

I took it apart; checked the nut tension; checked I had used the yellow wire;
reassembled (including the lock-out switch - at least it was all there)
and now it won't transmit.

Gets the pa key  as an asterix shows up to the left of the frequency;
it follows the K3; the K3 is fine;  The K3 reports it on/off/standby etc.

Heeeellllpp  :-)

thanks  73

sorry Gary

  - would be very happy to tell you if I knew :-)
took it out; took cover off; looked; put cover on; reconnected and it worked like it should have.
The cutout was ok before and after.
