KPA500 to KAT500 RF connection?

Jim AB3CV
By any miracle would two UHF right angle connectors and a M-M UHF adaptor
neatly fit between a stacked KPA500 and KAT500 or is a cable required?

How about a UHF-BNC adapter on both and a BNC M-M?

Thanks

Jim

Jim,

Experience tells me that using a "rigid" coax connection between two stacked
units, such as a KPA500 and a KAT500, is not a good idea unless the stacked
units are bolted together or mounted in the same rack.  If one of the units
should move even by a small amount, or try to move, a "rigid" coax
connection between the two would be stressed.  A flexible coax cable is the
better option.

Murphy is always causing things to move :-)

I do a lot of SO2R, so minimizing crosstalk is important.  I use a short
length of RG8 with a robust copper braid plus foil shield.

I plan to use a short length of RG400 which is double braid shielded and
flexible.  It fits perfectly in a PL-259 with a RG59 reducer...and is
commonly available at Hamfests in short lengths for a few dollars.
