Here in Aruba for WPX CW we have two K3s with KRX3s and one without. We are
operating M2 with two ops on each "station". A station has two K3s, one in
RX-only mode, i.e., "TX TEST" with paralleled PTT lines. In addition, the
partner op can instead listen to the main K3's KRX3 to explore a different
part of the pileup (with a bit of external audio switching). That has the
advantage over the second radio of being able to also hear the TX sidetone.
OTOH, using second radio allows scanning other bands and building the
bandmap up because it can use different antennas.
In any case, the KRX3 is getting a good workout here. It has presented some
interesting UI quandaries that we need to sort out with Wayne!
