KX-3 and KPA-500?

Doug Person-3
Can the KX-3 drive the KPA-500 directly?  I would think it might result
in 200 to 250 watts out?

tnx es 73, Doug -- K0DXV

Doug-

If you are referring to the KX3 driving the KPA500 (there are no dashes in
these product models) then- yes, many people do this. I get just almost
exactly 13 dB gain from the KPA500 when driven by the KX3.

Bruce, N1RX

The KPA500 here produces 13-14 dB gain on most bands. 13 dB is a factor
of 20, so 10 watts from the KX3 results in about 200 watts out to the
antenna system.
