[KX1] Optimal Voltage

I want to build an external custom AA eneloop battery pack for my KX1's, but was wondering if anyone had any experience on the optimal voltage would be.   Is higher always better for producing maximum output?

Chris,

Yes, higher is better, but up to a limit.  The maximum voltage for the
KX1 is 15 volts.  If you can achieve a voltage between 14 volts and 15
volts, that would be ideal.

AA batter holder from an old Icom 02-AT I no
longer have.
