See
www.elecraft.com/manual/KX3-2M%20FAQ.htm for answers to frequently asked questions about the forthcoming KX3 2-meter module. This is an early draft that will be expanded as we get closer to product release. 73, Wayne N6KR ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

Wayne,
if I understand correctly neither the K3 or KX3 transceivers currently offer digital coded squelch capability for repeater access. Can it be added through firmware? > Is the PTT going to be the XMIT button? Hi Mike, Most operators use the mic's PTT button, but you can also tap XMIT to start/end transmit. There's one catch, having to do with DTMF. For numeric keypad purposes, XMIT is used as the '0' switch. So if you tap XMIT, then enter DTMF mode (by tapping FREQ ENT), you need to exit DTMF mode (by tapping FREQ ENT again) to return XMIT to its normal function. Tapping XMIT will then go back to receive mode. This will all be described in the KX3 owner's manual and in the manual that comes with the KX3-2M module. This may be possible, and it's on the wish-list.

I bought that L-shaped computer mic from Fry's a while back and was
thinking of using/holding the KX3 like an HT, so wasn't sure how I would key it when using it that way. Thanks for the info. Mike AC6JA In a message dated 11/4/2013 2:01:23 P.M.
