KX3 KXUSB no port found in KX3 Utility

Richard-3
I'm trying to do my first KX3 update from firmware 01.22 to 01.23 via
the KXUSB.

The KX3 Utility is not finding a port.  When I click on the Port pull
down menu, no port appears.
I tried first with the drivers in my Win 7 machine, and when that did
not succeed, I downloaded the FTDI driver and installed that, and then
shut down the computer.  The KX3 was off and I disconnected the KXUSB.
Reconnected, turned on the computer and then the KX3, and opened the KX3
Utility.  No joy, no port.

I recall issues with baud rates in getting a port with the K3 Utility,
but I think the KX3 automagically sets baud rates to 38400 (p 38).

Probably operator error somewhere...any advice appreciated.
Thanks.

The driver installation is suspect. Part of install is publishing the port.  I got my drivers from Windows Update. Can you roll back driver install, ten plug the KXUSB in and your system find the driver from Windows Update?  Do you have any other FTDI devices that may have installed a different driver version?
