I have verified that my KX3 S-Meter is calibrated to s9 under -73db signal
WITH preamplifier active. Without preamplifier, in normal mode, signal is about s6. There is a smtd md funcition that shoud take an avarage signal but it is still inactive (TBD) with the latest firmware installed. Is there a particular reason to take s9 with preamplifier active ? I would prefer to have s9 in normal mode (pre off) but seems there is no way to have this. Is there any way to recalibrate the s-meter signal in this way ? tnks in advance best 73, iw2esl Giampiero ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

If the KX3 is like the K3, there is an SMTR MD setting for AbS (absolute).
This can help provide the same S-Meter reading regardless of preamp or attenuation. Hope that helps. 73, Dick - KA5KKT I have verified that my KX3 S-Meter is calibrated to s9 under -73db signal WITH preamplifier active. Without preamplifier, in normal mode, signal is about s6. Thanks Dick for you answer.
Unfortunately SMTR MD setting is still under development on KX3 and when you unlock it is in To Be Defined (TBD) state. 73, iw2esl Giampiero Inviato da iPad Il giorno 30/nov/2012, alle ore 19:39, "Edward Dickinson III" <[hidden email]> ha scritto: > If the KX3 is like the K3, there is an SMTR MD setting for AbS (absolute). > This can help provide the same S-Meter reading regardless of preamp or > attenuation.
