Has anyone located a source for a quality 3.5mm 4 conductor (TRRS)
plug which will work in the Mic/PTT jack of the KX3? I located one by Calrad, but it appears not to be very sturdy despite being made of metal (the plug part came apart from the head-appearing to be pressure fit only). I ordered my KX3 plugs from DigiKey and the were here VERY fast! I am waiting for
the arrival of my KX3 before I actually make the cables, though. I will have to experiment a bit to see what I need to do to run digital modes with the KX3...I am hoping I might be able to get by just attenuating the LINE OUT from the computer but I don't know if that will give me enough isolation to the KX3 MIC IN or not. I am very spoiled by the built-in interface of my K3. I've purchased various TRRS plugs from Markertek in the past. As far as I
can tell, they've had the widest variety (had to replace the plug for my Etymotics IEMs, and they had the only one that was small enough and looked comparable to the one my IEMs came with) http://audio-video-supply.markertek.com/search?w=TRRS&IMAGE.x=0&IMAGE.y=0&IMAGE=search ./ben W6MCM On Wed, May 23, 2012 at 2:49 PM, Lance Collister, W7GJ <[hidden email]> wrote: > I ordered my KX3 plugs from DigiKey and the were here VERY fast! Have you tested it yet? All the ones I tried had the sleeve connected
to one of the RCA plug center pin and only one of the rings connected. 73, tom n4zpt On 5/23/2012 10:48 PM, ~BG~ wrote: > I've purchased various TRRS plugs from Markertek in the past. I asked Eric this question when I was at Dayton. He recommended Radio Shack as a source for the plugs.

my local Radio Shacks had the 2.5mm right angle stereo plugs but no
others. Guess can check them on-line. 73, tom n4zpt On 5/24/2012 10:06 AM, W0FK wrote: > I asked Eric this question when I was at Dayton.
