On the KX3 utility program (I use the Mac version) the Firmware page shows the version numbers of the firmware loaded on the KX3 as well as the firmware available for the KX3 (the two columns). But, for the loaded firmware, only the version number for MCU is shown, the other version numbers are indicated N/A. Now, for each of these N/A entries, there is a corresponding entry in the "available" (next column to right) with the actual version number.
Why does the KX3 not show the version number loaded (installed) on the KX3 for these others (other than MCU)? Similarly, I have noticed this on other utility programs too and I am not sure why some say N/A and others give the version number. 73, phil, K7PEH ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

Hi Phil,
There is only one other firmware revision number on the Firmware page ( DSP ) in the KX3 Utility. It should display the DSP firmware revision installed in the KX3. If it is displaying "N/A" in the DSP installed field, there could be a serial communication problem. Does it always display "N/A"? Try clicking the "Check Revisions Now" button and see if that helps. Try setting the KX3 RS232 speed to 38400 if it is not already. If you don't have the P3 SVGA option installed, you should expect N/A to
appear in the Installed column for those rows related to the SVGA adapter (SVGA and FPGA rows). Do you have the P3SVGA Adapter installed in the P3? If not, the SVGA (and all of the FPGA) installed fields will show "N/A". If you do have the P3SVGA installed and are seeing "N/A" in the SVGA and FPGA installed fields, check that the P3SVGA is enabled in the SVGA Menu.

OK, that is probably the answer. I do not have the P3SVGA.
