Hi Don,
Thanks for the update! It has taken more than 6 months to get through the first 3 days....I sure hope things improve for the next orders! I ordered mine on Jan 11. I would be interested in knowing how you interfaced yours to the computer, if you have done that. I will need to hit the ground running with that mod in order to be able to depart with mine for ZK2 at the end of August! GL and MNI TNX! Hi Lance:
I haven't tried that yet--just got it fired up yesterday( needed to get 8 AA batteries hi hi). One thing I noticed is that there is VFO noise on 50 MHz when tuning. None when stopped on a station or frequency. An earlier s/w( couple years ago) on my K3 had the same issue but it disappeared in one of the s/w releases I think. I hope that is the case for the KX3 but I need more time to play with it yet. I'll bet it will drive my ss KW when I figure out switching. 73 Don VE2DFO

Hi Don,
PSE let me know how you make out with the interface situation! I will have to get right on that when I get mine ;-) GL and VY 73, Lance On 6/23/2012 3:38 PM, VE2DFO [via Elecraft] wrote: > Hi Lance: > > I haven't tried that yet--just got it fired up yesterday( needed to get 8 AA > batteries hi hi). The archive contains a answer to your computer interface question:
http://elecraft.365791.n2.nabble.com/KX3-and-Data-Mode-Interface-td7382234.html TL;TD: try it with a direct cable. If you have hum, use isolation transformers. If you need anything more fancy (e.g. PTT), you need more, but maybe you can control PTT via serial commands or turn VOX on in the KX3. ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

Rx Shift to 8.0 works per Wayne's posting on June 21 to reduce VFO tuning noise on 6 meters. So until they come up with a more permanent fix in s/w--this will do.
Other than that KX3 is beautiful--lots of fun. 73 Don VE2DFO
