Has anyone found a "wall wart" supply that works well with the KX3?

Bruce,
Be cautious with wall wart supplies with the KX3. Many are not regulated and also throw out spurious responses that may not bother some other receivers, but the KX3 with its 'direct to baseband' architecture is quite susceptible to that kind of power supply interference. You will be more certain of success using a small (or large) linear supply rated at 13.8 to 15 volts at 3 amps or greater. My KX3 is connected to a 35 amp Astron (with a suitable fuse - 5 amps). That supply also powers the K3 and a number of shack accessories. 73, Don W3FPR On 1/14/2013 5:14 PM, Bruce Manning wrote: > Has anyone found a "wall wart" supply that works well with the KX3? ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

I used the MFJ PS for the FT-817 small about the size of a laptop PS and
plenty of reserve.
