Mobile mounting for K2 and/or K3

john lawrence-3

I'm looking for any ideas for a source to mount the K2 or K3 in the Ford F250 PU in the middle on the transmission hump.

Ideally, a non-intrusive (to the radio housing) bracket arrangement to hold the radio so it can sit behind the shift up against the front seat at a slight angle. Without making custom brackets, is there anything out in the market that would work?

I could mount the radio horizontally on to a laptop pedestal but they take up more room and are expensive.

Thanks for sharing ideas

John, W1QS

John,

Try velcro - it works for a lot of tough mounting situations.
Velcro strap - the kind that sticks the two sides togetheer might be
handy too.

Have you considered a RAM mount replacement center console for you F250?  You should check the dimensions carefully, but at first glance I would say a K2 would fit nicely, along with other radios, and have a nice clean appearance.

That approach wouldn't be cheap, but it would look sweet.
