Motorcycle rental in Baku for a Caucasus trip

ShootingStar
Hey everyone, I'm planning a solo motorcycle trip through the Caucasus this summer and want to start in Baku. Never rented a bike in Azerbaijan before. How's the riding around the city and towards the mountains? Any tips on what paperwork they usually ask for? Also wondering about insurance and whether I need an international permit. Appreciate any advice.

Baku traffic can be chaotic, but once you head west toward Sheki or the mountains, the roads are decent and the scenery is fantastic. You'll likely need a valid license, and full insurance is a must. You can find motorcycle rental in Baku options through this platform https://getrentacar.com/en-US/motorcycle-rental/azerbaijan . Always check the bike thoroughly before taking it, brakes, tires, chain. And avoid renting from unverified private sellers.

Don't miss the drive to Gabala or the Caspian coast roads, they're scenic and not too crowded. Stick to main highways if you're a beginner; mountain roads can be narrow with sharp turns. Also, fill up gas whenever you see a station, some rural areas have long gaps between them.
