My one and only bitch about the KX3...

Phillip Lontz
First let me say I love this radio… KX31695. It works os well.
My second QSO was with the guys on Swain Island 5 watts SSB they gave me a 57… I was using Wayne's test antenna…
Really I do love this radio

BUT

Those damn knurled nuts on the sides that support the little legs that fold out. I hate those things…
They work, but  one side goes the right way the other side is backwards…
One gets loose as you push the legs back the other gets tighter…

Yeah, I do have a disorder… they say its my Moms fault.

I thought my lack of color vision was Mom and Dad's fault until a doctor
at the health center at college told me, "Poor choice of parents."
Guess I'm responsible after all. :-)

The handle on my service monitor has right and left-handed threads on
the knobs that hold it to the case and a shoulder through the hole in
the handle so that doesn't happen.  We lefties know about these things.

Shameless commercial follows below.

The manual states:

"*Loosen the two rear thumbscrews before adjusting the legs. Tighten
them afterwards.*"

...and if that method is followed, it's simple and works 100 percent. If
the leg movement were simply friction-based without screws, it would be
even simpler, but maybe at the expense of them loosening up over time due
to mechanical wear and not being able to be adjusted.

(Of course that doesn't invalidate your preference for being able to just
move the legs without dealing with the screws.)
