I just loaded the newest 1.50 software and set the mic gain as per
directions at tickling 5 bars. So far, so good. I had the monitor function on and listened on headphones. When I added compression, the sound lost bass and sounded very echoey / hollow. Yet, when I had a QSO to a friend 3 miles away, he said he did not hear the echo type sound and that I was 6 db stronger. So I left the compression at level 5. How come such a difference between on the air sound and monitor sound? When i did the same thing with my FT 950, the compression was not echoey/ hollow. Is everything working okay? 73 Mike KF6KXG ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
