New guy question

ray.fallen
Good morning...

I'm picking up a gently used K3 and P3 combo on Saturday and trying to get
ready to use it ASAP.

Which Heil boomset adapter should I be using?  Yaesu, ICOM
or Kenwood?

For those folks who are now saying, "Read the f-f-f-f-fine book, ya lid,"
I don't have the fine book yet, so please be gentle with the new guy.

:-)

Thanks and 73
Ray - ND8L

The Kenwood adapter, or just plug into rear panel jacks and set mic to rear
(yes, RTFM) ;-)

Sorry to see the RTFM gang is still alive and well.

You need the Kenwood adapter.

Hope you enjoy the K3. It is a good and challenging radio - with so many
variable settings that you can turn it into nearly anything you would
ever want.

And as another mentioned the rear panel mic connector will work.  I
bought an inexpensive 3.5mm (1/8") stereo extension cable (plug to jack)
so the microphone connection is accessable at the front of the radio to
ease plugging my headset in and out.  Also, any wear and tear is
confined to an easily replacable cable, and not the K3's jack.

Ditto.
