Good morning...
I'm picking up a gently used K3 and P3 combo on Saturday and trying to get ready to use it ASAP. Which Heil boomset adapter should I be using? Yaesu, ICOM or Kenwood? For those folks who are now saying, "Read the f-f-f-f-fine book, ya lid," I don't have the fine book yet, so please be gentle with the new guy. :-) Thanks and 73 Ray - ND8L ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

The Kenwood adapter, or just plug into rear panel jacks and set mic to rear
(yes, RTFM) ;-) Jim K0XU Sent from my Xoom tablet On Nov 23, 2012 6:40 AM, "Ray Fallen" <[hidden email]> wrote: > Good morning... > > I'm picking up a gently used K3 and P3 combo on Saturday and trying to get > ready to use it ASAP. > > Which Heil boomset adapter should I be using? Sorry to see the RTFM gang is still alive and well.
You need the Kenwood adapter. Hope you enjoy the K3. It is a good and challenging radio - with so many variable settings that you can turn it into nearly anything you would ever want. I bought an inexpensive 3.5mm (1/8") stereo extension cable (plug to jack) so the microphone connection is accessable at the front of the radio to ease plugging my headset in and out. Also, any wear and tear is confined to an easily replacable cable, and not the K3's jack. > Hope you enjoy the K3.
