New production FW releases

Richard Squire - HB9ANM
I loaded the latest FW releases 4.83 and 1.38 into my K3 and KPA500 (I
don't own a KAT500) and everything works smoothly.

But while the K3 (MCU, DSP1, DSP2) used to take some 7-8 minutes to
load, it now takes over 30 minutes (yes, Utility 1.13.5.9 at 38400 bps)
while all details appear on the screen, which was not the case earlier,
although I had been using 1.13.5.9 previously.

Anyone else noticed this?

That was not my experience.  All the uploads, including the K3 (MCU, DSP1,
DSP2) upload seemed to take the normal, and reasonable time.  I did not
even think of timing it.

Hi Richard,

I would say you have Trace checked under View in K3 Utility, I did it once
by mistake as well..

When "Trace" selected, shows detailed diagnostic trace information. Trace
may significantly increase the time required to complete operations such as
firmware load.

Check it out

Fine Richard... Well, you have most probably checked it once
unintentionally or "little green Windows guards" did it for you:-) Nice to
see that it works

Re: New production FW releases

Don Wilhelm-4
Mel,

I would suggest giving up on reading posts via the system provided by
Yahoo.  For the Yahoo Groups that I follow, I have the posts downloaded
as email, so I rarely sign on to Yahoo groups.  My email client has
filters set to put each post into the correct folder based on the
[GROUP] designation in the subject line.
If you want to view posts using webmail (say on a mobile device), tell
your local email client to keep emails for some length of time (I use 7
days), and then look at your ISP's webmail service to see what has come in.

Just my humble opinion, but I think it is more sane that logging onto a
variety of Yahoo Groups to see recent posts.

Don W3FPR
