No output in digital mode

kd1na
When operating in digital A modes after holding the TUNE button, which gives the proper power out indication, the following happens when going into PSK transmit:
1, There is no power out of the K3
2, The ALC readout is showing the usual 3 bars and can be adjusted
3, There is no monitoring tone ( I have the monitor set at 6 to monitor my output signal on psk).

Changing modes to USB and back to Data A mode temporarily fixes the problem until you hold the TUNE button again while in Data A mode.

The firmware revisions that have this problems are;
3.44, 3.45 (a special firmware sent to me by Elecraft), and 3.52.

Revisions 3.42 and below work fine. Others have reported this but I just wanted to give my $0.02 worth.

Shouldn't you be showing 4-5 bars on the ALC meter?  Maybe your audio is
insufficient.

Re: K3 No output in digital mode

kd1na
Thanks for the reply.  Increasing the number of bars on the ALC ( by either
increasing the mic gain or audio drive from the computer) has no effect on
the getting output power. leaving the audio drive where is is (3 bars) and
changing modes on the K3 then returning to Digital A mode will now produce
the requested output power. This indicates the audio drive is not a problem.
Holding the TUNE button starts the problem of no RF out again.

Last night I received an e-mail from Wayne Burdick of Elecraft indicated
they have solved the problem and it will be released in a beta soon.
