Noise level..?

g8kbvdave
No disrespect to others.

But, is there a mailing list, "Purely" for announcements from Elecraft re
firmware updates/changes (etc) to their products?

Currently I have little interest in the general traffic on this list (that seems to be
relpeated over and over) but I would like to be kept informed about changes
issued from Elecraft.

Agreed Dave,

Daily, it is getting more difficult to separate the "wheat from the chaff"...

Re: Noise level..?

Chester Alderman
I whole heartedly agree with both of you!! You would think the intelligence
level of the members of this list could understand this reflector IS NOT the
place to post off-topic subjects, but it doesn't seem to matter to those who
are inclined to post "look at ME" emails here. Eric recently re-posted the
reflector guidelines AGAIN and it did not matter to those few who continue
to post off-topic items

I kept trying until I now have generated successful Outlook rules that dump
everything from the Elecraft reflector that DOES NOT have [ELECRAFT] K3 and
[ELECRAFT] P3 in the subject line. So now 90% of my Elecraft reflector
emails goes directly to the Trash.

The folks who continue to ignore Eric's moderator guidelines, have no
respect for other Elecraft users.

Tom - W4BQF

suggestion, create email filter for you email client, so that all
messages to the list are sent to the trash, *EXCEPT* ones from
*@elecraft.com

p.s. you think this list is bad, don't even think about trying the yahoo
Elecraft_K3 list, absolutely dominated by infuriatingly redundant bs

I use the reflector without emails. No sorting, no filters, no clogged
mailbox. I check the list on-line and only click on what holds interest
to me. In general, if it doesn't involve the K-Line - I have no interest
and just scroll past. Very easy - no technology involved!

Dave,

You could likely build a filter or two to see only
messages from Wayne and Eric.

What would be so wrong with setting up a filter to exclude anything not
from elecraft.com?  I also find willful OT postings to be rude, but a
filter is a far simpler solution to your problem than setting up an
entirely new mailing list.

Why do it any other way?  This thread is about as noisy as any of the rest
of it.
