Norm 1 <SAV> ?

John Huffman-3
I can't get the custom settings for NORM1 or NORM2 to save.

FW 4.012
I set the bandwidth where I want the custom setting to be for NORM1
(800HZ), I hold the SHIFT knob until it says <-- SAV --> and then still
holding rotate the knob to NORM 1.  I release the knob.  When I hold
SHIFT for <-- NOR --> it's back at the default of 400hz.

Is this for my radio or all radios with this firmware?

Re: Norm 1 <SAV> ?

Hi John,

My K3 (s/n 4521) works correct, I think- hihi! I punch the I/II button for
I, then set DSP for the bandwidth I want saved, then hold 'NORM' (is that
what you mean by "SHIFT"?) until <SAV> appears, then rotate the knob to the
left. I then do the same procedure for a different bandwidth and store this
BW in II. Now to get to my saved bandwidths, I have to press 'I' or 'II' and
it works just fine.
Thanks for the Q in the CWT!

Tom-W4BQF

Sorry - I did not include all of the information in my prior email.

Hi John,

it works just fine. If I press the NORM button until <NORM> appears and
select either "I" or "II", the bandwidth does change, because I can hear the
difference plus I can see the filter switch from FL3 to FL2, however the
bandwidth display on the K3 does not change. The bandwidth's I was testing
with were 500hz and 250hz.
Thanks for the Q in the CWT!

  Tom -

I updated my firmware to 4.14, but still no joy.  I did have the K3 lock
up last week and Elecraft support walked me through a hard reset.  I
thought I had things back to normal, but now I'm not sure.

No matter what I SAV, NOR always goes to the default 400hz on I or II.

Yup, thanks for the CWT QSOs, two bands this month and two sessions last
month.  You put a great signal into Manie.

Ah!  That's the ticket.  I missed the part on the hold AND twist to get
the custom bandwidth recalled.

Many thanks!
