I've gotten quite a lot of interest from Elecrafters about tonight's
operation of 4U1UN. I might as well make it official: I'll be operating 4U1UN again tonight, probably beginning around 1930-2030Z depending on how early I can leave the office. Now's a good time to try if you need the contact as I don't know when I or the other two UN operators will be broadcasting again. CMP is renovating the Secretariat building, and the future location of 4U1UN is uncertain (plus we have lives away from work also hi hi). If today is going to be anything like yesterday, turn your amp on if you have one as you'll need everything you've got to get through the pileup. I will make it a point to try and work some of the QRP (100w or less) stations, but again... if it was anything like yesterday, chances are it'll be incredibly difficult to work you. I'll probably start on 20m phone and see where it goes from there. Sorry, no CW or digital modes tonight. If you're from the Elecraft reflector, please tell me so during our QSO. Good luck and good DX! -- 73 de James K2QI ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

Quick update: will try to operate 6m for the first stint due to several
requests. After which, I'll QSY to 20m. Maybe today if you decide to operate split maybe you could listen to the QSX frequency before sending your callers there. Yesterday you sent them to 14.245, which was right on top of IY1NGM, a Marconi commemorative operation. --- On Fri, 7/31/09, James Sarte <[hidden email]> wrote: From: James Sarte <[hidden email]> Subject: [Elecraft] OT: 4U1UN tonight To: "Elecraft" <[hidden email]> Date: Friday, July 31, 2009, 11:17 AM I've gotten quite a lot of interest from Elecrafters about tonight's operation of 4U1UN. Wow. Didn't realize. My apologies to the commemorative station. I had
listened for a while to see if 14.245 was clear. Not hearing anyone, that's where I directed people to go. Thanks for the reminder though; it's always good to be diligent in checking. 73 de James K2QI On Fri, Jul 31, 2009 at 2:37 PM, Wes Stewart <[hidden email]> wrote: > Maybe today if you decide to operate split maybe you could listen to the > QSX frequency before sending your callers there. > > Yesterday you sent them to 14.245, which was right on top of IY1NGM, a > Marconi commemorative operation. > > > --- On *Fri, 7/31/09, James Sarte <[hidden email]>* wrote: > > > From: James Sarte <[hidden email]> > Subject: [Elecraft] OT: 4U1UN tonight > To: "Elecraft" <[hidden email]> > Date: Friday, July 31, 2009, 11:17 AM > > > I've gotten quite a lot of interest from Elecrafters about tonight's > operation of 4U1UN. BTW, this is why I couldn't work split when I was sitting on 14.204; either
side 5kc's up or down were occupied.. Anyway, thanks again for the reminder.
