Paul,
That option is totally up to you. Go to the home page whose link is shown on the bottom of the post and set up the way you want. 73, Mike NF4L On Jul 6, 2013, at 12:13 AM, Paul Chebi <[hidden email]> wrote: > This note is for the log/web manager. > > I note that each time somebody comments on a thread ( the recent ones on metal roof), a new email is sent to all recipients. The secret to that is to get a big-honking-old-fashioned soldering iron to solder with. I have one that AT&T issued my FIL is about 1938 that works great. I had to change the cord to a modern one to keep from electrocuting myself or someone else.

A 4 square can be badly affected by metal (towers, masts, metal roofs). The
gain is similar but it loses front to back ratio in the affected direction. David G3UNA > You forgot the Gain. Forexample you can loose 2 - 3 dB gain on an antenna due to interaction with another antenna or "object" and see no nothing on the SWR you measure down in the shack. Then you think everything is fine a perfect, well maybe it´s good since what you don´t know you don´t worry about. /SM2EKM ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

This is a mailing list. The whole point of a mailing list is to forward
email responses to previous posts. So, in a way, it is designed to "clutter" your inbox. You have options in the way the list sends messages to you here: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft But understand, this list is inherently different than a "blog" and the point of the list is to disseminate information to participants. Thus, there is going to be significantly more traffic than you're used to and inbox "clutter" is part of the bargain. 73, Scott, N9AA On 7/6/13 12:13 AM, Paul Chebi wrote: > This note is for the log/web manager. > > I note that each time somebody comments on a thread ( the recent ones on metal roof), a new email is sent to all recipients. My suggestions for handling email from any email reflector or Yahoo group:
Sign up for individual emails - BUT - set a filter in your email client to move all emails containing "[Elecraft]" in the subject into a separate folder in your inbox (I call mine Elecraft). That effectively creates your own personal "digest", with the advantage that you can reply to any individual email (Note that with this list, just "Reply" goes only to the sender. If your email client does not have a "Reply to List", you must "Reply All" and edit out the sender's address if you want it to only be sent to the list). Just my suggestion for handling email from any list or Yahoo group. Some email clients will show you the posts in threaded fashion if you like that better (Thunderbird does that), but I prefer to list the emails in date/time received and if I want to see threaded posts, I look on Nabble (but I don't ever post or reply from Nabble) As a separate request for those who do reply using Nabble, please include a bit of the relevant thing you are responding to in the body of your post. Often the subject line no longer has anything to do with what is being referred to (such as this post) 73, Don W3FPR On 7/6/2013 12:43 PM, Scott Manthe wrote: > This is a mailing list.
