Sorry for the off-topic message; just attempting to distribute this
information effectively. Thank you. Several Amateur Radio operators will be running Part 5 experimental 630M CW beacons during the ARRL Field day event: WG2XKA (op WA3ETD), 1W ERP 472.5 kHz VT WG2XJM (op NO3M), 20-30W ERP 473.0 kHz PA WG2XIQ (op KB5NJD), 1W ERP 474.0 kHz TX WD2XSH/20 (op N6LF), 20W ERP 475.0 kHz OR The WG2XJM 630M station consists of an Elecraft K3 operating in transverter mode (IF 10 MHz) with a VK3XDK 630M linear transverter. A 10 MHz GPSDO (Thunderbolt) sources a K3EXREF module as well as providing LO for the transverter. Reception reports and/or message copy is very much appreciated. Elaborate equipment is not required, many Amateurs already listening on the prospective 630M band are effectively doing so with existing or simple antennas for reception, including 80M dipoles, HF verticals, K9AYs, BOGs, 80/160 beverages, et.al. Many current HF radios with general coverage receivers (incl. ElecraftKX3) will also tune to the 472-479 kHz range. Best reception will be between sunset and sunrise (Saturday evening - Sunday morning). Please pass this information on to your Field Day group, local and/or regional nets, and fellow Amateurs. This operating event is being orchestrated to promote awareness of 630M operations, and is neither sanctioned nor in affiliation with the ARRL or Field Day directly. Many countries currently have secondary 630M Amateur allocations (including Canada) and the US should eventually follow suit. Reports can be sent to their respective station operators above. Thank you and have a fun and safe Field Day. 73 Eric NO3M (WG2XJM) [hidden email] http://no3m.net/ ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [hidden email] |

I'm really getting tired of these endless off topic posts.
I kind of understand when a post starts off about Elecraft and drifts off, but lately there have been a LOT of posts that start totally off topic and go from there. Eric, how about putting an end to it????? Hello Bill,
I fully appreciate your views but I am the one who always put up off topic questions to ask the experts here. I did benefit by all those expert answers and learnt more radio knowledge. Sometimes, my questions are not radio related. For example, in 2011, I asked for tourist information in NYC. Naturally, I always ask for all the reply 'off-the-list' and apologise for the QRM + bandwidth here. 73 Johnny Vr2XMC ________________________________ 寄件人︰ Bill Turner <[hidden email]> 收件人︰ [hidden email] 傳送日期︰ 2014年06月24日 (週二) 8:21 AM 主題︰ Re: [Elecraft] Off-Topic I'm really getting tired of these endless off topic posts. We can either put the job of moderating on Eric, or we can decide to
follow the list guidelines ourselves, and there is no problem. If we each ask "does this post meet the spirit of the list?" and "if the moderator was here right now, would he approve?" It's up to us, guys. Do we really need more than the occasional reminder? 73 -- Lynn On 6/23/2014 5:21 PM, Bill Turner wrote: > I'm really getting tired of these endless off topic posts. > > I kind of understand when a post starts off about Elecraft and drifts > off, but lately there have been a LOT of posts that start totally off > topic and go from there. > > Eric, how about putting an end to it????? > > Bill W6WRT > [hidden email] ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [hidden email] |

I use filters. For example all that RM-? stuff
goes directly to trash. Takes me a minute to build yet another one, and I have many now :-) Phil W7OX On 6/23/14, 5:52 PM, Lynn W. It's a pretty insincere apology if you keep committing the same violation over and over again. 'Tis always better to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission ...

David,
Noted and I only ask OT questions when strictly necessary. Thanks for reminding. 73 Johnny VR2XMC ________________________________ 寄件人︰ David Gilbert <[hidden email]> 收件人︰ [hidden email] 傳送日期︰ 2014年06月24日 (週二) 9:49 AM 主題︰ Re: [Elecraft] Off-Topic It's a pretty insincere apology if you keep committing the same violation over and over again. Gentlemen,
As noted in our list guidelines, please do not criticize others on the list. I'll jump in when necessary ( though I do have a day job here at Elecraft, so I'm frequent y away from the computer :-) If you feel the urge to complain or ask for action, please email me directly instead of taking up list bw. Also note that we do allow limited OT posts, as long as the threads do not get too long and everyone self moderates in the interest of keeping list signal to noise reasonable. 73, Eric List Moderator elecraft.com _..._ > On Jun 23, 2014, at 5:21 PM, Bill Turner <[hidden email]> wrote: > I'm really getting tired of these endless off topic posts. ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [hidden email] |
