Oops, firmware upgrade died in the middle

Buddy Brannan
Hi,

So I went to update my KX3 firmware, and something or another happened, and the communication died in the idle. Now the KX3 won't power up so I can try again.

Some time ago, I remember reading an article about how to get into an emergency recovery mode to reload firmware, but I can't seem to find that article now (naturally). Can anyone point me in the right direction?

KX3 Utility Help, Troubleshooting MCU Boot Loader if the LCD displays "MCU
LD".

If you see error messages on the KX3 LCD like "d = 135" or "DSPT" or "d =
102", this is the MCU telling us that the (old) DSP isn't responding as
expected.   The MCU probably loaded fine, but isn't responding to the KX3
Utility as expected because of difficulties communicating with the DSP.

Clear each of these error messages by tapping the DISP button (on the lower
right of the KX3 front panel).

After the errors have been cleared, use the KX3 Utility "Test
Communications" button on the PORT tab to find the KX3 again, and then "Send
all NEW Firmware" on the Firmware tab.

You want to load the DSP without loading the MCU again.

You can also use the KX3 Utility View menu "Advanced Mode" check menu item
to show a list of check boxes for the MCU and DSP and you can check just the
one you want and "send checked items".
