P3 S Unit Measurement

I have noticed the signal strength in S units on the P3 is lower than the S meter (in peak mode) on the K3. Is this normal? Thanks. Roy Morris W4WFB

It depends on how you have the K3 S Meter calibrated, if you are
operating the K3 S Meter in NOR or ABS mode, and if you have calibrated
the P3 to your K3.

It depends on how much lower. It ought to be within an S-unit or so.

If it's an older K3 that does not have the IF output modification, then
the P3 would read low by 10 dB-ish (a couple S-units).

You can calibrate the P3 amplitude so it matches the K3 using the menu
item MENU:Lvl Cal.
