For those of you have the P3/SVGA board installed and are trying to use the
1920x1080 resolution without success, we have a beta firmware image file available which should resolve the problem. To perform the update, make sure you have version 1.12.4.26 of the P3 Utility installed. It can be found at: http://www.elecraft.com/software/P3/elecraft_p3_software.htm#p3util Next, download the file 1920x1080_103.zip located in the beta firmware ftp directory: ftp://ftp.elecraft.com/P3/firmware/beta/ to a temporary folder. Extract the 3 files contained in the zip file, you will only be updating one of the files, but the other two are needed for the P3 Utility. Start the P3 utility and click on View and select Advanced Mode. Next click on the Firmware tab and then the Browse button. Select the temporary folder you used above. Click the Check Versions Now button. Finally locate the check box next to FPGA 2 and select it. Make sure no other boxes are checked and then click the button marked Send Checked Items to P3. Once the download completes, reboot your P3 and select 1920x1080 from the SVGA menu (if not aalready selected). Note: you MUST reboot your P3 in order for the changes to take effect. If this fixes the 1920x1080 problem, let me know so we put together a formal release. 73, Paul -- View this message in context: http://elecraft.365791.n2.nabble.com/P3-SVGA-1920x1080-Resolution-Beta-Firmware-tp7557223.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
Paul,
The fix works great on my 27" Asus VK728Q monitor. Works fine in both full screen and picture in picture. Prior to this, I was having to use 1440 x 900. Good work! The only slight complaint I have is waterfall part of the display on the large monitor. The waterfall brightness/visibility is rather light and less distinct/bright than on the P3 screen. The top waveform part of the display is fine. There is an option -- go to the SVGA monitor submenu of the P3 menu and you will find it
-- to adjust the relative brightness of the SVGA waterfall to the P3 one. That will fix your problem! Oscar, have you tried to adjust the new SVGA submenu on the P3; SVGA bias >
set waterfall color bias to about 1.2 or so and you will see the waterfall define to a blue, determined how much further you adjust. Hi Paul, The P3 "FPGA 2 " firmware patch version 01.03 worked fine for me - I'm running a Dell 2405FPW in 1920 x 1080 mode at 60Hz. The display is initially shifted but everything looks good after running monitor's "Auto Adjust" mode.
Thanks for releasing the beta version of the patch. 73, Walter AG6FK |
