P3, VGA card - USB connectors

Hi guys, there is a keyboard connector and another USB connector on the rear of the P3 when fitted with the VGA card. I have read through the documentation on the Elecraft website, the KE7X book and the 2011 QST review but I can see no mention of their capabilities.

So exactly what can one do with these USB connectors??

Andy,

The USB adapter is for a keyboard.  With the P3SVGA and correct firmware
revision installed, you can send data mode through the P3SVGA-attached
keyboard.  I'm afraid I don't remember which firmware revision allows the
functionality.  Maybe someone else on the list can provide that information.

Hi Andy,

The information about attaching a keyboard to the USB connector is described in the latest SVGA manual for the P3. Here's a link:

You'll need to try it out for yourself to get the hang of it but many folks are using this feature so any questions you might have should be quickly answered.
