Hello,
I finally found my RIGblaster plus unit but I can't find my book. Just playing around with the RIGblaster I can receive via the sound card with out any problems. I placed the K2 into VOX and I go to transmit and all seems fine but it does not send anything. Then I tell the unit to receive but it will not receive unit I take the Mic jack out of the front of the K2. Anyone else using the K2 and RIGblaster plus for PSK31? Onto looking for the manual. 72 and Thanks, Ron Polityka WB3AAL www.wb3aal.com www.n3epa.org/ K1 - SN 01011 K2 - SN 01392 _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. I've got that same setup and it works great. Get to the West Mountain website and download a Rigblaster plus manual. You need that to double check the jumper settings inside the rigblaster and the cabling. If setup properly you don't need to use VOX to transmit as the rigblaster will kick over the PTT through the mic cable. Looking at the online Rigblaster plus manual and check page 8 for the Alinco, Kenwood, SGC, Elecraft jumper setup. Good luck. -- R. I use the Rigblaster NoMic (no microphone) with my K2. As Kevin AC0H
said, go download the manual off the west mountain radio website (www.westmountainradio.com). I have never had a single problem with my Rig Blaster. I highly reccomend wiring it up for PTT instead of Vox. It's certainly much easier to get working than Vox and it's also more reliable. Definitely check and re-check your wiring / jumper settings. The rig blaster has jumper settings and as you know your K2 does as well. I had to map it out on a piece of paper on a diagram to absolutely make sure that it was wired properly from the jumpers in the K2 all the way to the jumpers in the rig blaster. Once you get it you never have to worry about it again. Since I use my rigblaster with several rigs, I actually set the jumpers in the rig blaster to the default settings. My Rigblaster has an RJ45 connector for the rig connection. What I actually did was to make any wiring changes in the cable itself. This way, I never have to open the Rigblaster and mess around with jumpers if I ever want to switch radios.. I simply make a new cable up. I have cables for everything from my K2 to my ancient Icom 2at. To make the cable up, you can start with a CAT5 cable and cut it in half.. you can then use each hacked off end to attach your connector for whichever rig. For rigs with the RJ-45 Jack, I have an RJ-45 crimper and plugs - which you can pick up at any home depot or Lan/Networking supply catalog. Hello,
Thanks for the replies on the PSK31. I had the RIGblaster Plus running my K2 before I moved 4 years ago. I finally found the unit tucked away in a box that I thought had only manuals in it. Anyway, I got the RIGblaster Plus up and running with my K2 on PTT. I am using the DX4WIN 7.02.15 program and I had to figure out the different codes for the buffers. First QSO was with HP1 in Panama running the K2 @ 5 watts into a ground mounted Butternut HF9V with 120 radials on the ground. Once again, thanks for the help.
