Greetings,
I am looking into getting started on PSK31 using the K2. I have the KPA-100 as well. I have read the WA7SPY app note and several items on the reflector. I have a basic question. Where can you get a connector to interface to the K2 microphone connector? No one seems to address that issue. Also, can you use the K2 Remote Control software to control the PTT for PSK31 or is there a PSK31 package out there that controls the K2? Hi Jim:
If you are talking about the 8 pin plug for the K2 mic jack, check Radio Shack p/n 274-025. 73, Ken K3IU -----Original Message----- From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of Elmore's Sent: Thursday, January 12, 2006 8:37 PM To: [hidden email] Subject: [Elecraft] PSK31 Greetings, I am looking into getting started on PSK31 using the K2. Ham Radio Deluxe controls the K2 and does PSK31, logbook, satellite
predictions, mapping etc very competently. Hi Jim -
I got the mike connector from my local Radio Shack...I think I had to ask for a Kenwood microphone connector. I use MixWin and set the K2 for VOX operation instead of PTT. I have the Heil Pro headset whose adapter has a nice jack for a mini plug for the microphone and a 1/4" jack for a foot switch. I just unplug the boom mike from the adaptor (not unplug the adaptor from the K2) and insert the audio plug from the soundcard in the PC. You could order just the adaptor from Heil prewired and use that. I think it was about $30. Jim,
The 8 pin female mike connector that plugs into the K2 mike jack is readily available. You may even be able to get one from Radio Shack. MixW controls the K2 very nicely. You can change frequency, mode, filter settings, and it even controls PTT. Don't run the K2/100 over 30 watts; 20 watts and a fan is better. Set the power control high and control audio level to get the power. Turn off compression. You will need an external volume control or attenuator for audio from the sound card. 73, Chas, W1CG At 08:37 PM 1/12/2006, Elmore's wrote: >Greetings, > I am looking into getting started on PSK31 using the K2.
