I've wondered how well the PX3 screen displays in bright sunlight. I
Use my KX3-2M as IF for my portable 10-GHz station and display of spectrum would be handy for finding mw signals. But this is activity on a high hill or mountain or lake/oceanside location (not in a darkened vehicle or your home). Typical LCD laptops screens are unusable in bright light so wonder about the PX3. Not interested in the P3 for my K3, just the PX3. 73, Ed - KL7UW http://www.kl7uw.com Dubus-NA Business mail: [hidden email] ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [hidden email] |
I use my PX3 on a sailboat in a go-kit and frequently sit out in the
cockpit with the PX3-KX3 and a Raspberry PI 7" touch screen (and RPI of course). I do have to turn-up the PX3 LCD brightness pretty high though. But the PX3 can get bright enough for me. It does consume more power of course. regards, Brian VE3IBW ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [hidden email]

Our club has its summer picnic during the NAQP SSB contest. We
set up a radio with the logging laptop inside a 15"-20" deep cardboard box on a picnic table in the full August sun. We don't have significant issues reading the laptop screen. 73 Bill AE6JV On 1/15/19 at 12:35 PM, [hidden email] (Edward R Cole) wrote: >I've wondered how well the PX3 screen displays in bright >sunlight. Part way down my blog post you can see a picture of my PX3 outside in Lassen NP during the ARRL 2016 NPOTA event.
Amazingly visible!! https://nomadic.blog/2016/05/09/a-noble-journey/ <https://nomadic.blog/2016/05/09/a-noble-journey/> Paul W6PNG/M0SNA > On Jan 15, 2019, at 8:35 PM, Edward R Cole <[hidden email]> wrote: > > I've wondered how well the PX3 screen displays in bright sunlight.
