Hello,
Today I successfully updated the firmware on my K3 using the latest version of the K3 Utility. At that time I also changed the scrolling sign on banner. Now when I power up the K3, I'm getting text showing up before the reset banner. For example if my new banner is my call, W3SB, before it scrolls there is text, let's say "XYZ_" ahead of it. Since "XYZ" is a piece of equipment I used to have, I know that I set "XYZ" at some point, but for the life of me I don't know how. Is there some other way that the sign on banner text can be set? This really has me puzzled. 73, Monty W3SB ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [hidden email] |
Use the Elecraft Utility, select Edit Power On Banner and make the
changes you need. Just be sure there are no extra letters or symbols in the box. Only 22 characters are allowed. Of course you will need the radio powered up and connected to the computer. Also check the port number and Test Communications to be sure the radio and the computer are communicating. 73 Bob, K4TAX K3S s/n 10163 On 9/28/2017 7:31 PM, w3sb via Elecraft wrote: > Hello, > > Today I successfully updated the firmware on my K3 using the latest version of the K3 Utility. It turns out that in another time and universe, I set a text description for ANT1 and that was the leading scrolling text before the text set up in the banner.
