I shot an email to Elecraft this past weekend about the status of the
new amplifiers, and here is the reply I received: "Still working hard and looking at Nov or so for release." Shortly after Dayton, I was told that "We expect to be able to take orders later this summer and plan to ship production before the Pacificon hamfest in mid-October." Not sure when orders will be taken, but the project seems to be only slightly behind the initial schedule. Like all projects of this magnitude, delays are inevitable. I was thinking
that even the October Pacificon date was a delay as compared to what we were hearing earlier, but I could be mistaken. It's a little pointless for people to get worked up about this. A year after they ship, everyone will forget that they were late (or on time or early). In the meantime there's always something else to do. Order one of Larry's LP-100 wattmeter kits to keep you busy while you wait. Or build a KX1 (or another KX1). :-) Craig NZ0R -----Original Message----- From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of Lou Laderman Sent: Tuesday, September 12, 2006 8:38 AM To: [hidden email] Cc: [hidden email] Subject: [Elecraft] Re: Amplifier Status KPA1500 I shot an email to Elecraft this past weekend about the status of the new amplifiers, and here is the reply I received: "Still working hard and looking at Nov or so for release." Gee, thanks for the plug, Craig ;-) I should point out that at this time
I only have about 10 units left from the current production run. Visit my website for more details. The LP-100 would look nice sitting on top of the new amp ;-) 73, Larry N8LP www.telepostinc.com Craig Rairdin wrote: > Like all projects of this magnitude, delays are inevitable. I sure hope so. Here in DL sales tax is going up from 16% to 19% next Jan., and we have to pay the same amount of tax for imports. It would be really cool if the first orders arrive before the tax hike. vy 73 de toby -- dd5fz (ex dj7mgq, dg5mgq) _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Hi Larry,
Did you perhaps overlook my order and paypal payment of $322 August 1, 2006, for the LP-100? 73, Joe, aa4nn --------------------------------------------------------------------- > Gee, thanks for the plug, Craig ;-) I should point out that at this time > I only have about 10 units left from the current production run. I know you didn't mean to send that message to the list, Joe, but I
think I should respond to the list just so anyone who is waiting for delivery will have the latest info. It took 4-5 months from first orders to delivery for the first run of LP-100s. For the vast majority of custoemrs, this run will take about 2 months from order to delivery. I plan to have running stock on LP-100s starting with the third run, which I plan to order parts for next week. This will enable me to fill holiday orders in a timely fashion. A new venture has ramp up issues in terms of building inventory, perfecting processes for kitting and assembly, updating manuals, etc. I also had to deal with the conversion to RoHS compliance, even though I started that process even with the first run. Since the response to the LP-100 has been phenomenal... that has added to the ramp up times. I have also been busy updating the firmware to add features for the second run (yes, any LP-100 can be upgraded at little or no cost to the latest version). I have virtually all the parts now for this run except the enclosures, which should be here Monday or Tuesday, and should allow me to start shipping kits at the end of next week. 73, Larry N8LP www.telepostinc.com Joe-aa4nn wrote: > Hi Larry, > > Did you perhaps overlook my order and paypal payment of $322 > August 1, 2006, for the LP-100? > > 73, Joe, aa4nn > --------------------------------------------------------------------- >> Gee, thanks for the plug, Craig ;-) I should point out that at this >> time I only have about 10 units left from the current production run. >> Visit my website for more details.
