I just received a dust cover from Rose for my K3: black with the Elecraft logo and name and my callsign embroidered in red. The cover is well done, if lighter in weight than some other covers I've had in the past. I requested, and Rose provided, a nice cutout on the lower left for the mic and headphone cables. A good product, well made, fairly priced, and promptly supplied. I would recommend Rose's work to anyone looking for a dust cover for their Elecraft baby. Rose can be reached at [hidden email]. She has a website where you can see her products at http://tinyurl.com/7lm3m5. (Disclosure: I have NO business connection with Rose -- I'm just a customer.)

I'd also like to endorse Rose's work. She made me two K3 cases per W0YK's
DXpedition design (compatible with Ed's foam protectors), and a dust cover for my key. Excellent craftsmanship and prompt, courteous service. 73, Dick WC1M > -----Original Message----- > From: J.A. I don't think there's standard pricing on any of Rose's products because
they're custom. Just email or call with your specifications and they'll quote you a price. The deluxe large cases I bought were about $150 each, not including shipping and the foam inserts. The key cover was $21. 73, Dick WC1M > -----Original Message----- > From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]] > Sent: Thursday, February 04, 2010 5:53 PM > To: [hidden email] > Cc: 'J.A. The prices she quoted me in an email were: K1: $60 USD, K2: $80 USD, K3
standard: $90 USD, and K3 DXpedition (larger bag and including Ed Muns W0YK's protective foam end caps): $128 USD. Shipping by Priority mail in the US/Canada was quoted as $12, but that may change a bit with the new postage rates. Check with Rose to get the latest prices before ordering. [hidden email] I'll chime in and agree with every one else that they look great and are very well-constructed indeed. Photos are at: http://www.smugmug.com/gallery/7058736_hZbo4/1/452236459_Bc3aF#452236459_Bc3aF Included in the price are several lines of custom embroidery with your call, Elecraft logo, etc. I knew that you get a carrying strap with each one but I didn't realize that one external and two internal pockets are included as well. The external one will be perfect for the manual and the internal ones should work for cables and small accessories. When you buy two "K3 DXpedition" bags they Velcro together and there are adjacent attachment rings on the two bags so one carrying strap can clip to both. In addition, Rose included a free extra with each bag: a wide elastic strap with Velcro'd ends for holding the end caps to the K3, which makes it much easier to slide into the bag. Rose will also customise further, I have two external side pockets on mine, that will take a mike/key/cables etc.
I'll add my endorsement of the cases, covers and my HexKey cover (which can be seen here http://www.smugmug.com/gallery/7058736_hZbo4/1/452236459_Bc3aF#452236469_iRtnw). Rose keeps you informed as the work progresses and even sent me photos of the various stages. Delivery to UK was reasonable, but I don't remember exactly how much. I was so pleased, that even though I'd bought a (rather cheap) solid wall foam filled case, for my K3, I then bought a carry case from Rose to use in it's place. I may buy one with foam ends to use in slightly rougher conditions. I'm very pleased with the workmanship (or should that be workwomanship :-) and would not hesitate to recommend her work to anyone. One last comment, I originally looked at a similar K3 cover by someone else, but they refused to ship to the UK. Boy am I glad they did, because if they hadn't, I wouldn't have tried a Rose cover! 73 de M0XDF, K3 #174 -- Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored. -Aldous Huxley, novelist (1894-1963) ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

Hi Alan,
Thank you for your kind words! (:-) I'm posting to the reflector to make potential case buyers aware that because of USPS rate changes that went into effect on January 1st, my shipping rates are in a state of flux. One of the DXpedition cases will fit in the box that I've always used for shipping cases, but two won't. Depending on a buyer's location, it may be cheaper to ship an order for two DXpedition cases in two boxes, rather than one larger box. The rate changes (mostly) apply to container size and -not- weight. 73! Rose's approach to customer service and quality are an extension of the
Elecraft model. She does great work and listens to the voice of her customers. You can't do any better. 73 Greg AB7R On 2/5/2010 12:54 AM, David Ferrington, M0XDF wrote: > Rose will also customise further, I have two external side pockets on mine, that will take a mike/key/cables etc.
