Well, this topic got a fair amount of play on the reflector. I can
certainly look for a new frequency for the Sunday net, but I don't see many of the regular net check-in stations in the thread. I don't tend to have QRM on that frequency - maybe that is my good fortune to live well away from others here among the tall trees (my nearest neighbor is at least a qurter of a mile away). Is a change in frequency needed for most of us who check in to the net? Maybe 14.305 would work, but finding clear spots is always a challenge on 20M. If you have an opinion about this, please email me off of the reflector. I'll go from there. Thanks. 73, Phil, NS7P [hidden email] ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

Phil, I have noticed it since the 80's but have always been able to notch it out
but actually don't find it as an issue at my location. If i remember correctly The Icom net was held on 14.317 for over two decades with that tone present and I don't remember it being such an issue and it was more of a roundtable discussing features, issues, suggestions etc. where you would tend to stay on for the whole net that many times lasted well over an hour vs. simply checking in & giving your serial number. Phil,
No problem in Georgia either. Whatever you think works best. George AI4VZ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - . . . Not bad here in AZ. The notch should take it out. I would say stay on 316.

For those of you with no notch there is always the CW net each Sunday.
Please join us. There is little QRM to fight and when it does occur a simple closing down of the filters makes it easy to block. 73, Kevin. Hmmm. My K2 has a notch filter. It works great. BTW - the K2 notch
filter is also known as the KDSP2 :-) - Jim, KL7CC John Cooper wrote: > what bout those of us with k2s and no notch? > > -----Original Message----- > From: John_N1JM > Sent: Wednesday, April 27, 2011 10:49 PM > To: [hidden email] > Subject: Re: [Elecraft] SSB Net Frequency (14.316, etc.) > > Not bad here in AZ. Subject: Re: [Elecraft] SSB Net Frequency (14.316, etc.) Not bad here in AZ. The notch should take it out. I would say stay on 316. John N1JM #2555 I keep seeing geographic messages about 316. It's not about geography. It's about your neighbor or the kid down the block. 14.316 is a standard ISA bus frequency. You'll find most IBM ATs, some older color monitors, and a few TVs use it. It may be the kid down the block that has a junker WINDOWS 95 he is trying to fix. Somewhere, sometime, people are going to have interference on that frequency. Is tradition so deep you can't move a few kHz? de Fred, AE6QL ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
