SSB board Cavet

Ken Bessler-2
I just figured out why I wasn't getting any SSB audio
from my KSB2. On the board, Diodes are marked
with a circle on one end and a line going to the pad
where the other end goes. D14 has TWO lines! One
goes towards the xtal filters and the other will face D14
towards D4. The one going down is the trace (looks
like a line to me - just green instead of white) going to
R10.

I unsoldered D14, cleaned up the holes & reinstalled
D14, this time pointed towards the xtals. Bingo!

To quote Homer: D'oh!

K2 #4913 is now 100% operational. Now what do I
do? It'll be a week before the K160RX kit arrives.

Ken,

Heat up the iron, melt a bit of solder, breathe in the fumes
and kick back :-))

Re: SSB board Caveat

I wouldn't! The solder (unless its the new kind) contains lead! Thats why I
got headaches all them years. Maybe thats why I'm now "crazy"! (heh heh)
