SSB for the deaf

John Chance-Read
Although profoundly deaf, I am having some success reading morse from the
screen using CW Skimmer.

I now would like to get involved with my Club's SSB nets. This means that I have
to receive speech on my Orion/K2 and send it to my computer where it will be
decoded into TEXT (similar  to the CW Skimmer).
I have tried to search for a 'Speech to Text' software but despite carefully
selecting the paths (titled Speech toText) I keep landing up with the 'Text to
Speech' software, which obviously has a much wider market.
Has anyone used and can recommend a suitable product.
Help appreciated
John G4BOU

Hi John,

You might want to look into closed captioning software. Also look at what is
built into windows to do speech to text conversion --- its in the ease of
access folder in accessories folder.

John,
Try your search on "voice recognition software".  Dragon Naturally Speaking is the first one to come to mind.

While I haven't used it I think this may be a possibility.

Hi John,

You might also do a search for TTY software.  Telephones that do that are called
TTY's.
