I was enthusiastically poring through the K3 information last night when my husband came into the room. I showed him the rig and was clearly looking a little starry-eyed. He looked at me and said, "What do you need another radio for? Your current ones work fine!" Just thought I'd share -- it's not only XYL's who don't understand. :-) It's not a gender thing, really! Cathy, it's good to hear from the female ham operator perspective. I'm
going to have to sell my Jupiter and IC706Mk2G to finance a K3 to go along with K2 4595. I got my private pilot's license back in '89 and decided to go into partnership on an airplane. Well Jan smiled politely and all was good......until she went on a 3-year shopping trip. 73, de Ed N0EHQ > I was enthusiastically poring through the K3 information last night when > my husband came into the room. Ed:
That reminds me of the millionaire that was being interviewed by a reporter and the report asked him who he attributed his sucess to. He without a pause said I owe it all to my beautiful and loving wife. Then the reporter asked him what he was before he married her and he replied without a pause, "A Billionaire." Ah, Cathy, this is priceless!
My wife and I are both familiar with that "starry-eyed" look. She sees it in me with Elecraft gear and straight keys (and air rifles) and I see it in her whenever a Carnival cruise ad comes on TV. We're both pretty good at saying "no"!!! Try this. Next time you're giving your hubby a warm hug, squeeze him tight and say "I love you". He'll melt and say "I love you too". Then, before the moment fades add "can I get a K3?". - Keith - -----Original Message----- From: Cathy James I was enthusiastically poring through the K3 information last night when my husband came into the room. And she replies "Yes, dear, we'll collect it on our way home from the cruise." QPQ

Hell, I am in shock. I had the high res K3 pix on my screen when my wife
passed by. She said, "Is that going to be your new rig?" I said yes and she said okay, get it. Said I would wait till Dayton so I can touch it to make sure it is for real. 73, N2TK, Tony #3481 (K2) -----Original Message----- From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of [hidden email] Sent: Wednesday, May 02, 2007 7:57 AM To: Darwin, Keith; [hidden email] Subject: Re: RE: [Elecraft] The XYL/OM Issue And she replies "Yes, dear, we'll collect it on our way home from the cruise."
