I’ve just had the KIO3B USB interface installed on my K3. When I plug it into my Mac Mini I get the following message: “USB DEVICES DISABLED - Unplug device using too much power to re-enable USB devices”. What does this mean? I am unable to connect my logging program, MacLoggerDX.

Are you plugging into a USB hub? There are some device which really need a powered USB port, and not necessarily just a port on a hub that is powered. Try plugging directly into a port on the Mac Mini. You can always move the mouse or keyboard to a USB hub.

Specifically the error means that something plugged into the USB ports of
the computer is exceeding the amount of power it should be drawing. There could be several reasons, including a short in the USB cable or a device that doesn't follow the protocol for getting more power from the port. Unplug everything and work your way back until you find the culprit.
